Door Poster Homeroom Competition
Rules:
1. Nothing from the internet can be printed out and no ideas can be copied from online, but using the internet to sketch a picture of Jeff Yalden or to research more about him on his website is fine.
2. You can only use the size of paper provided by Student Council (nothing bigger or smaller).
3. Don’t copy or tell others anything about your class poster (don’t put it on your door until the final day or show anyone).
4. The theme of your poster must portray just one of the messages that stood out to you.
5. Homerooms must complete the posters in the 3 weeks given.
6. Teachers are welcome to help, but the majority of the work should be done by the students.
7. All students must participate, whether it’s giving ideas or working on the artistic details of the poster.
8. Most importantly, have FUN!
Judges:
-Mrs. Luke and Mrs. Morey will be the judges and will visit all the classrooms to judge the posters on the day of submission. They can do butcher paper and poster paper, but they will only be judges on one.
Rubric:
1. Completion: The poster includes a bold title, a complete interpretation of the message Take Time To Think” or any theme of character (like honesty or respect) the homeroom used, illustrations, etc. The whole poster should be in color. (10 points)
2. Neatness: Writing, coloring, etc. Should not be messy and should not seem like it was thrown together at the last minute.(5 points)
3. Creativity: Original ideas, bright colors. Does it grab your attention? Is it unique? Is it different than the rest?(5 points)
4. Theme: Does the poster stay true to the theme? (5 points)
Total: (out of 25 points)
Bonus: You can get bonus points if the poster has a really inspirational story, a really special way of showing the theme chosen, or anything else that makes the poster exceptional. (up to 5 points)
